Hello, East Nashville!

2016-08-01 11.29.58I am pretty excited to say that The Interior Maven LLC is saying hello to East Nashville starting this month! I know……WHAT?!?!?! So, so, so crazy and it all has happened so fast.

But let me back up for a second. I have been loosely looking around for an office or work space locally for about a month now. I wasn’t coming up with anything except for a perfect little spot about 2 miles from the house, but it ended up being way out of my current budget. I was pretty sad once I added up overhead, because it was a historic building being remodeled and would really be perfection for my business. (Maybe down the road one day.) I quickly regrouped and moved on in my heart….

As usual, things have a way of working themselves out if you keep your mind and heart open.

Just this past Friday, I was randomly scrolling through my Instagram feed (I say that as if I never look on there, but we all know that’s the opposite of true) and came across a gorgeous photo a local calligrapher had posted of her workspace. I was totally intrigued by her post and contacted her directly to inquire whether there was an open office to rent. She promptly responded and told me all about it and put me in touch with the person I needed to speak with.

(Here’s where I want to take a second to encourage others. People are always saying how lucky I am when things work out, or they can’t believe how things work out for me because it’s unreal sometimes. But the honest-to-God truth is that my parents taught me that you don’t get anything unless you ask. JUST ASK. What if I had been afraid to ask this girl about details? What if I already had a negative feeling that it wouldn’t work out? I would never have found this perfect situation. If you have anything that you want, JUST ASK. Say it to someone OUT LOUD. You can’t just sit around all day and never take chances. I thrive on taking chances and I’m so thankful for parents, and now a husband, who have always encouraged me to take these chances. So, get out there and do something!)

Things moved pretty quickly after that…I hopped over to the potential office over the weekend, LOVED it, LOVED the location, and most importantly, LOVED the amazing creative business women I met and talked with. It was like a little nod from God telling me to keep on hustling and working and doing my very best. I was giddy. Sometimes when you feel in a rut and have been busting your tail and you’re not sure which direction you need to go, it’s nice to get a little nudge. But always keep your eyes OPEN. If you are always looking down, you’ll keep missing the opportunities ahead of you.

Chad and I talked over the pros & cons and he quickly agreed that it seemed like a perfect opportunity. (Score! Sometimes I dream up ridiculously big schemes and he talks me down, but I knew I was onto something with this one. I could just feel it.) So on Sunday evening, I emailed and told them that I was in.

I . WAS . IN.

This morning, August 1st, at 8am, I was officially handed a key.

I officially signed a lease for The Interior Maven, LLC.

I suddenly have a very clear picture of my business and where it is headed and it is the most exciting feeling. I am also aware that sometimes pictures change and that’s okay, too, but as long as I’m moving onward, I know I’ll get where I’m going.
2016-08-01 11.26.07One of the great parts of the new office space is I will now have a space in a VERY popular area of town to meet clients and lay out tile, carpet, flooring, etc., for design meetings. This was a little difficult before because I would haul it everywhere in my van. And then haul it into a client’s home that may or may not be under construction. Not always ideal.

Now I don’t have to haul it everywhere until I’m finalizing finishes, I can come up with my design plans in the space AND present the plans in the space.

Plus, piles of tiles are heavy, people. Not sure if you noticed that.

I’ll post more specific details and photos later, but I wanted to share my exciting news with you before my crazy packed Tuesday gets going.

(Don’t forget to sign up for email updates in the sidebar! You will get my posts directly in your inbox instead of having to find them on FB or IG.)

xoxo,

Amanda

Tomas - BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN! http://www.BoycottBitches.com I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don’t know how to cook or clean, don’t want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women? American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least. This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.(Your comment is awaiting moderation)ReplyCancel
